On their largest projects, the national water utilities and the major energy and petrochemical buyers do not buy from the open market. Each keeps its own approved vendor list, organised by product and service category, and its engineers specify from it. A main contractor bidding for that work can only price and order from suppliers already on the list, so an unlisted supplier is out of the reckoning however competitive it is.
Each buyer runs its own process. Registration usually starts with the company documents: commercial registration, financial statements, certificates and local-content records. Product approval follows, with data sheets checked against the buyer’s specification, and for many categories a technical evaluation and a factory or quality audit. The requirements, the portal and the timeline differ from buyer to buyer, and an approval with one does not carry over to the next.
What decides the pace is the file. Most delays come from a document that is missing, expired, unattested or inconsistent with another, and each query from the buyer costs weeks. We build the file once, to the strictest standard among the buyers that fit you, and reuse it. Our fee covers that preparation and the management of the process; the approval decision rests with the buyer alone.
